This work from home/remote position will be scheduled approximately 40 hours per week.

Schedules patient care activity in the office and facilitates flow of information between physician, patient, and the referring physician, via the call center. This employee will schedule/reschedule/cancel appointments, route messages to appropriate staff, utilize/work In Basket Messages, and make outbound phone calls to schedule referring patients.

Assignments may be of a confidential manner and require judgment and discretion at all times.

Answers the telephone, makes daily patient, physician and other phone calls. Distributes correspondence and administrative documents.

Verifies referrals and performs pre-certifications as appropriate. Verifies patient insurance and demographics.

All other duties as assigned. Serves as second staff person at locations when physician office staff not scheduled at locations, which includes evening hours.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Medical office experience and 2 years prior scheduling experience preferred. Familiar with medical terminology preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: copier, fax, telephone system, and computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel). Must be able to multi-task and maintain confidentiality. Looking for a Candidate that has the following skills:

1. Strong verbal and social skills to facilitate working respectfully with patients, physicians, visitors, co-workers, and drug reps in person or by telephone.

2. Utilization of Electronic Health Records systems to find and print records and to scan new records into the system.

3. Utilization of the Practice Management System to find whether or not a patient has been seen by this practice, to enter registration data, to scan insurance cards or other identification.

4. Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA privacy requirements.
