Job description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Schedules patient appointments for all ancillary departments, responsible for obtaining accurate demographic data, insurance data, prep calls for patient pre-registration tasks as well as medical necessity screening.
Works in a call center environment that experiences high volume calls and faxes.
Conducts telephone interviews with patients and/or physician offices.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Medical terminology, spelling competence and computer experience essential.
Must be able to deal effectively and courteously with the public, physicians, and all hospital personnel in a high volume setting.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalency required. Previous Patient Access/scheduling experience required.
