Saw Operator
Shift: 1st | $20.00/hour | Location: Carol Stream, IL
Job Summary
NTA Precision Axle in Carol Stream is looking for a Saw Operator. In this position you will be responsible for assisting in the production of quality parts by providing raw materials to forging production that meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Unloads bar stock bundles from Bar Stock Rack by using either Crane or Fork Lift to Saw Hopper. Manually break apart bundles and situate bars in Saw Hopper.
- Sets up and uses machine and PC interfaces to operate:
- Bar Stock Rack (inventory PC & automation controls & remote),
- Cut Off Saw (main PLC and each control panel)
- Continuously manage the flow of cut billets out of the saw to floor storage.
- Dispose of scrap properly.
- Manually performs saw blade and brush change overs.
- Accurately completes quality, production and daily PM documents.
- This position requires a combination of standing and walking for an entire eight to twelve hour shift.
- 5S of area daily and follows all PPE rules and company policies.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience operating a 10 ton forklift in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of basic machine operations and controls, ability to troubleshoot processes and line equipment
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Basic math skills and attention to details
- Knowledge of safety practices
- Skill in both verbal and written communication
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
