Sales Representative – West Texas
Lightning Protection / Electrical Bonding & Grounding Systems

Company Description

The Lightning Master product portfolio encompasses:

  • Lightning protection using our innovative streamer-delaying air terminals.
  • In-tank static drains.
  • Bonding and grounding equipment.
  • Movable Arm Grounding System (MAGS) for floating roof tanks.
  • Electrical surge protection devices.

The upstream oil & gas market constitutes ~50% of our business. We also have many successful applications in other industries: refineries, chemical plants, water works, storage facilities, communications towers, public and commercial buildings to name a few. Geographically, much of our business is currently concentrated several focal points:

  • Gulf Coast (from Louisiana to southern Texas) – upstream oil & gas, but also down- stream oil & gas facilities, including refineries, chemical processing facilities and storage tanks.
  • Permian Basin (West Texas) and adjacent regions – upstream oil & gas.
  • North Dakota – upstream oil & gas.
  • Florida – primarily “conventional” lightning protection and bonding / grounding for public and commercial buildings and structures.
  • India – oil & gas storage facilities (mainly using the MAGS system for floating roof tanks).

Our customers typically expect a full-service approach. This begins with a site visit where we determine, together with the customer, what the scope of our delivery should be. This is followed by engineering and design of the system, installation services and finally by support over the life of the installation. The West Texas Sales Representative will be involved in all stages of this process, including the sales and contract negotiations phases.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with current and potential customers. These customers will be primarily active in the West Texas oil & gas industry.
  • Conduct customer site surveys during which we determine the needs of the customer for lightning protection, bonding & grounding, and surge protection. The site survey provides a consulting service for the customer, a basis for the subsequent LMC quotation of its services to the customer, and a first-round blueprint which will be completed by the LMC Engineering and Field Service teams when the project is executed.
  • Generate quotations in accordance with specifications provided by the customers and the results of the site survey. The quotations will cover LMC products, field services, project time-tables and all aspects of project implementation.
  • Conduct discussions and negotiations with the customer and/or their chosen contractor(s) to agree upon the optimal terms and conditions for both the customer and for LMC.
  • After receipt of the order, conduct a turn-over of information to the LMC Field Service team.

The information includes products and services to be provided as well as contact information, time schedules, etc. Lend a helping hand to the installations team when needed.

  • Maintain a strong relationship with customers during project execution and beyond, expanding contacts to other departments and locations within the customer’s organization.
  • Provide marketing assistance as needed, e.g., trade show attendance, information for website blogs, etc.
  • Quality issue resolution as required. Investigate causes of failure, propose remedial actions, ensure replacement parts are provided when needed, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on Salesforce CRM system of all important customer correspondence, quotations, commitments, price lists, contracts, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Five-plus years of client-facing experience with technical products (construction or repair services, equipment installation, sales, etc.) in the up-stream oil & gas industry with demonstrated success.
  • Successful in presenting and selling complex technical solutions to management, field and engineering personnel for customers in the oil & gas industry in the West Texas region.

Again, with demonstrated success.

  • Proficiency in use of electronic communications media (tablets, e-mail, messaging, etc.) and

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Self-starter, team-player, superior communication skills.
  • Must be based within reasonable driving range from Odessa / Midland, Texas.
  • Clean driving record is a must.
  • Willing to travel up to 70%. Note: most travel will occur within a two-hour radius from

Odessa / Midland in West Texas.

Compensation:

  • Competitive package with a mix of salary and success-based incentive plan.

  • Medical insurance covering 95% of the employee’s insurance costs and 50% for family members after completion of 90-day probationary period.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
