Qualifications:
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible sales experience with the convention hotel facility is highly recommended. Demonstrates written and oral sales presentation skills, and knowledge of computer systems and hotel software (CI/TY preferred). The ability to travel and work evenings and weekends is required. Applicant should have established contacts and demonstrative success in past hotel markets. Self-directed, self-motivated team player with a positive outlook and personal commitment to excellence and creativity.
Requirements:
  • Considerable knowledge of the hospitality, convention, and travel industry.
  • Considerable knowledge of methods, processes, and procedures for developing viable sales contacts
  • Ability to execute sales proposals and contracts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers/meeting planners and hotel staff.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Willing to work a varied schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • To meet/exceed all sales and booking goals in assigned market segments.
  • To develop personal contacts in assigned areas, communicate and make sales calls and presentations, and sign contractual agreements with customers.
  • Travel to make sales calls and attend trade shows and other special events is required.
  • Work is supervised by the Director of Sales and evaluated by the Hotel’s General Manager.

Duties:
  • Research and develop contacts in assigned market segments.
  • Plan and organizes sales trips, develops contact and client lists.
  • Serve as the on-site host for site inspections/ meeting planners considering the Myrtle Beach Marriott as a potential site, and prepare bids and proposals.
  • Attend trade shows, and sales presentations and makes sales calls outside of your assigned market area.
  • Work with meeting planners to insure all conditions and expectations are met prior to the signing of the contract and turned over to Catering Department.
  • Maintains weekly and monthly accounts of sales numbers including calls made leads generated, bookings, and lost business.
  • Develop and follows quarterly action plans.
  • Aide other staff as necessary once the contract is signed.
  • Learn about competition for more effective selling.

  • Maintain an organized work area at all times.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
