Conduct training programs directed at new employees, department safety representative, supervisors and managers.

Facilitate and support site and other safety and environmental committees.


Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years safety experience in an industrial setting. Comprehensive knowledge of Safety (OSHA) and Environmental statutes and regulations.

Position Purpose:

Assist in the development, implementation, and reviews of corporate safety and environmental compliance policies and programs. Provide regulatory and technical guidance to the following groups, operations (frontline) personnel and site management regarding aspects of safety and environmental compliance.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  • Inspect physical locations to analyze safety and environmental programs and procedures and to identify possible problem areas. Provide consultation and recommendations for physical changes in the facility. Recommend personal protective equipment and loss prevention programs as needed.

  • Develop and promote safety and environmental policies/programs for all employees to include behavior based recognition.

  • Coordinate all Industrial Hygiene sampling requirements for this area. .

  • Ensure all accidents are investigated to determine necessary corrective action and prevention plan.

  • Ensure compliance with federal (OSHA, EPA, EPD), state and local government and coordinate, research and present material in conjunction with legal, operational and engineering departments for compliance with OSHA and corporate standards.

  • Schedule safety/environmental training and ensure the completion of all required. OSHA/EPA /EPD and Gulfstream training. .

  • Serve as a Liaison with Six Sigma/Lean Groups during implementation projects.

  • Coordinate Operational Audits in conjunction with ISO14001/OHSAS 18001 internal and external entities and provide reports on all findings to include corrective action required. .
