POSITION SUMMARY

CST Industries, Inc. is the global leader in the manufacture and construction of factory coated metal storage tanks and silos, aluminum domes and specialty covers. Applications for CST's products include water, wastewater, oil & gas, industrial liquids, bulk materials, agriculture, bioenergy, and architecture.

The EHS Coordinator is the primary coordinator and administrator of safety-related activities within the plant. They will work closely with management staff, laborers, and HR to ensure that the plant's safety cadence is followed, to deal with safety-related incidents in a timely fashion, to coordinate with outside service providers to ensure that environmental reporting is completed accurately and on-time, and to assist employees with issues related to safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedules, facilitates and / or participates in, keeps records of, and reports out on activities associated with CST's regular safety cadence:
• Lead Daily safety walks on shop floor
• Keeps records of and reports out on daily plant safety meetings
• Schedules, facilitates, and maintains records of weekly plant safety committee meetings
• Participates in bi-weekly safety best practices call with all plants
• Schedules and tracks monthly online training
• Creates safety-related management reports and / or provides data necessary for others to create those reports
• Coordinates plant activities and maintains records related to safety-related inspection of equipment and supplies
• Coordinates and participates in activities related to environmental health and safety incidents
• Leads the collection of information related to incidents
• Reports incidents to regulatory agencies such as OSHA and EPA, and to CST's insurance providers and environmental service providers, and conducts follow-up activities as required
• Communicates with care providers and monitors progress on recovery
• Coordinates investigations into incidents and ensures completion and implementation of RCCAs
• Works with HR to ensure that employee records are kept up-to-date
• Acts as the point person in our work with our EHS reporting service provider
• Ensures required samples are taken
• Collects and collates sample data
• Forwards data to EHS service provider
• Maintains information related to and required for emergency response
• Emergency response board
• Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and associated records
• Training records
• Assists employees with safety-related issues
• Conducts new employee safety orientations
• Works with plant management to develop meaningful return-to-work opportunities for injured employees
• Works with HR to assist employees with Workers Compensation claims
• Other
• Works with the Director of EHS to assess the effectiveness of existing policies, procedures and programs
• Assists the Director of EHS in the development and implementation of related programs
• Performs another other duties specified in CST's Safety Manual

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school degree or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in a safety-related role
• 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role
