The Johns Hopkins Hospital Outpatient Center OR has 8 surgical suites and 1 procedure room. Nurses scrub and circulate. You will care for newborn to adult patients needing outpatient surgical services. Occasionally procedures may be done and patients are admitted to an inpatient unit. Most common surgical services: dental, urology, gynecology, hand surgery, neurology, otolaryngology/ head and neck, plastics, surgical oncology, and sports medicine. Nurses applying will also be required to float to other OR's. An extensive orientation will be provided to promote competency in other OR environments.

Shifts: 10 hour day shift (7am - 5:30 pm), no nights or weekends

Qualifications:

• ADN or BSN. Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered; provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
• RN work experience required
• Ability to role model and support practices consistent with evidenced based care, guide others with plan of care, independently make clinical decisions in complex situations, and proactively assist others with patient assignment.
