  • GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The duties and responsibilities stated are a general summary and not all-inclusive. Provide quality nursing care to patients in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality as illustrated by the following:
    • Provide individualized attention, which encourages each patient's ability to maintain or attain the highest level of independence and physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being
    • Performs all duties as assigned by nursing management, and the rehabilitation department in accordance with patient care plan
    • Performs Active Range of Motion (AROM) and Passive Range of Motion (PROM) safely to patients
    • Ambulates patients while utilizing appropriate equipment or devices safely
    • Assists patients to apply and remove splints, prostheses, braces needed for safe mobility
    • Encourages patients to perform tasks for him/herself as appropriate
    • Reports to nursing management any adverse conditions experienced by the patient during the provision of restorative nursing care
    • Monitors and assists with the performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote patient involvement to the highest extent possible
    • Practices good body mechanics while delivering restorative nursing care to prevent injuries to self or to others
    • Cooperates with licensed therapists when providing restorative nursing care to patients
    • Perform all duties and functions as listed in the Certified Nurse Assistant job description
    • Perform other duties following recommendations of therapy (Physical, Occupational, etc.) when patient is referred to Restorative Nursing
    • Document progress and participation in range of motion exercises and ambulation on patients in EMR and communicates the results to care team.
    • Attend educational classes, trainings and seminars related to restorative nursing
  • EDUCATION & LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
    • High school diploma or equivalent, current CNA License in state of Mass or equivalent experience in allied health related field.
    • Minimum of 1-year prior Certified Nursing Assistance experience preferred, but not required.
