This part-time weekend position is a great fit for a problem-solving person who enjoys a variety of administrative, human services, and housekeeping responsibilities and has a big heart for adults in need.

Summary of Position:

This position provides for any resident care needs during 3rdshift, monitors security throughout the building and takes care of some basic housekeeping and administrative tasks. The position may occasionally require one to function as the 3rdshift in-charge staff person or the primary housekeeping staff person for 3rdshift during periods of reduced staffing levels.

Principal Duties:

1. Respond to all significant resident activity and any resident behavioral issues or care needs which need to be addressed.

2. Receive and give verbal reports of any significant resident issues or care needs at the beginning and end of the shift, completing updates of resident shift notes.

3. Complete administrative support tasks as assigned, including: Scanning resident files, filing and organizing former resident files, purging former resident files when required; complete review of current resident inspection files; maintain accurate and updated profiles in electronic health record and medication administration record;

4. Complete housekeeping tasks as assigned, including: Sanitizing high touch surfaces, vacuuming, sweeping & mopping, dusting & polishing, wiping bathroom walls & stalls.

5. Ensure building security and complete regular walking rounds throughout the night.

6. In case of emergency or crisis, coordinate communication with on duty staff, emergency personnel and notify the on-call administrator as needed.

7. Administer PRN medications and early morning medications (from the portable medication cart) as needed.

8. Maintain current CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications at all times.

9. Attend staff or department meeting as able (recommend quarterly).

10. Be available to residents by remaining visible as much as possible.

11. Work to build and maintain healthy rapport with all residents and staff.

12. Provide care in a manner that respects residents’ dignity and uses mental health recovery principles to encourage residents to seek wellness and reach their personal goals.

13. Pray regularly for spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of residents and for your own insight and wisdom.

Physical, Social, Emotional, and Spiritual Requirements:

1. Physical: Ability to accomplish the tasks associated with this position is essential. Must frequently lift and/or move 20 pounds, occasionally assist with lifting up to 100 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, reach above and below, kneel, crouch, crawl, and stay generally active throughout the work day.

2. Social: Strong rapport with staff, residents, families, and professionals is essential.

3. Emotional: Skills of perception, understanding and caring for people are essential. He/she must be patient, calm under pressure, emotionally stable, and not easily-provoked.

4. Spiritual: In a visible role, this position requires spiritual insight, maturity and patience, which comes out of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Professional Requirements:

1. Coursework in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred, or experience in the field of human services.

2. The job requires a person who strongly believes in and demonstrates ownership for the mission and core values of Paxton Ministries.

3. The job requires a person who is organized, self-motivated and who has the ability to work independently.

4. This position requires a committed Christian with a heart for working with mentally and emotionally challenged adults in a Christian residential care setting.

5. Driving a vehicle for business purposes is necessary for this position. That requires that he/she have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable MVR upon hire, and must at all times meet the guidelines in the Personnel Manual for an acceptable driving record.

Schedule:

This position has the following full-time schedule of approximately 16-24 hours per week:

1. Weekends: 11:00 pm – 7:00 am. Set days will be scheduled on hire.

Occasional: Occasional Training will be required outside of the regular work hours.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.75 - $19.00 per hour
