Chicago Association for Research and Education in Science (CARES) is looking to hire a full-time Research Coordinator immediately at Edward Hines Jr Federal Health Care Center in Hines, IL. Part-time will be considered based on position match. The Research Coordinator will work with Research Health Scientists from the Center of Innovation for Complex Chronic Healthcare (CINCCH). Research studies span topics related to psychosocial outcomes, such as loneliness and perceived social isolation, to obesity and nutrition behaviors in persons with mobility impairments.

RESEARCH COORDINATOR

Specific Duties:

• Prepare, maintain, submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols, amendments, reports, and continuing reviews for IRB protocols.
• Contact, recruit, and schedule potential research participants
• Conduct the informed consent discussion with the subject obtain informed consent, when applicable.
• Conduct primary data collection, such as questionnaire administration and qualitative interviews
• Complete data entry into research database
• Perform literature reviews and annotated bibliographies
• Assist with study product development including peer-reviewed manuscripts, conference presentations,
• Prepare and submit sponsor required documentation, interim, and final reports
• Keep study team on track with timeline and ensure proper organization and retention of study documentation
• Assist with new study submissions

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in a health-related or social science field is required, a Master’s degree is preferred
• Competency in research methods
• Excellent organization and project management skills
• Ability and availability to problem solve and work independently and as part of a team
• Superb interpersonal skills and attention to detail is essential
• Knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Salary:

• Starting salary is $21.45 to $29.00 per hour based upon education, experience, knowledge, and skill level
