About Us:

Working as a key member of the Brand and PR Team within the Marketing and Strategy department, this role will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team by planning, designing and implementing effective social media communications and offer additional social media support for the Go-to-Market teams. The Associate, Social Media, will manage our company image in a cohesive way in order to achieve our marketing goals; and will be accountable for leading social media communication and reputation management strategy, consistent with the company’s strategic goals and priorities, and in consultation with the Marketing leadership team.

Position Purpose:

Social Media
  • Support the North American social media paid and organic strategy for the Shred-it and Regulated Waste Compliance Solutions business units, as well as corporate channels, including content calendar development and community management.
  • Facilitate the distribution of timely, relevant and engaging social media content to support business objectives and reflect the brand(s).
  • Develop a comprehensive monthly social media content calendar that reflects corporate, business unit and team member advocacy requirements and secure the required reviews and approvals.
  • Ensure the organization’s response matrix is current and is revisited and updated as required to reflect changes in messaging, positioning, etc.
  • Effectively monitor our social media channels ‘real-time’ and ensure community management and response is completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Sr. Social Media Associate with measurement and tracking performance to show the impact of social media as it relates to program goals.
  • Manage online reputation: ensure all web and social media applications are monitored to identify, document, and resolve any issues and/or criticism of the company’s brand or services, and monitor/report on long-term reputation and brand sentiment.
  • Track, respond and escalate any actionable Google My Business reviews.
  • Maintain a review rating tracker and established reporting requirements in excel.
  • Ensure proper usage and reference to our brand via social channels, in alignment with our brand strategy and social media policy.
  • Provide social media support and counsel to internal stakeholders as needed.

  • Ensure high quality, timely roll out of social programs through effective collaboration.
  • Experience in project management an asset.

Experience :

Bachelor's or college degree in a marketing discipline or equivalent work experience.
2 years experience in a marketing or social media role, preferably in a B2B services environment.
Must have a strong understanding of online marketing and social networking.
Demonstrated social media knowledge, including experience with social media campaign strategy, development, monitoring, analysis and reporting across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube.
Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional partners to develop strategic plans and KPIs.
Experience using a project or content management tool. Familiarity with Wrike an asset.
Experience managing and working with external agencies, consultants and vendors.
Proficient in program or project management with effective time and priority management skills; ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects.
Strong computer skills are required, including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Knowledge of social media listening tools, such as Meltwater.
Knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter advertising platforms, as well as analytics platforms including Facebook Insights, Twitter analytics, LinkedIn Company Page Analytics and Google Analytics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement and decision-making skills.
Possesses the ability to embrace change and actively look to enhance and improve current processes. (flexibility)
