Position Overview:

The Fundraising Specialist is a registration expert within the nonprofit and fundraising registration world. The Fundraising Specialist exemplifies the Labyrinth brand by ensuring that our standard of quality is upheld, providing clients with a world-class experience. This role demonstrates top performance in all aspects of their work.


The Fundraising Specialist collaborates with our Labyrinth Team Leads, Administrative Assistants and Registration Specialists. Fundraising Specialists ensure delivering clean, precise, accurate work with a timely turnaround of all filings.


Responsibilities:

Work

  • Ensures the timely, accurate filing of our client’s registrations and contract submission to government agencies.
    • Prepare state registration applications
    • File state registration applications, financial reports, and contracts for professional fundraisers, fundraising counsels, and commercial coventures.
    • Prepare fundraising contract state submittals within 5 business days
    • Prepares paper applications and attachments for our Admin Team to mail to state agencies
  • Maintains ownership of a minimum base of 30 clients
    • Handles all filings
    • Manages client relationships
    • Assists other departments, such as Accounting or Sales as necessary
  • Communicate registration requirements clearly and timely to our clients
  • Addresses common state issues that may arise from the submission of the forms.
    • Makes determinations about procedure and standards in conjunction with the Team Lead and/ or Vice President
    • Work with peers to implement new processes and address common mistakes. May include, but is not limited to, creating training materials, providing business input for software design, or presenting on a new topic to the team
    • Work product is of the highest quality, and is subject to variable inspection.
  • Submits tickets through Wrike to replace current applications made available from state agencies and address any software changes or reference data to be updated
  • Executes on tasks with urgency to meet deadlines
  • Approaches the work with a focus on the best interests of our clients.

Knowledge

  • Maintains a proficient level of knowledge of the nonprofit and fundraising industry, state fundraiser registration requirements, and unique challenges of our clients
    • Is proficient in independent research of policies and requirements for our clients’ filings
  • Maintains a competent level of knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Is a thought leader and influencer within the compliance arena and has the ability to speak externally with credibility, authority, and subject matter expertise
  • Can accurately identify documentation required for filings
  • Maintains a strong proficiency in using technology to optimize efficiency in filing

  • Balances client satisfaction with our business needs and goals, placing clients first when necessary
  • Provides information and guidance to the team, and understands when and how to escalate issues
  • Identifies, analyzes and proposes solutions for issues as they arise

  • Anticipates issues, takes proactive action, and communicates outward as needed


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1+ years of fundraiser, nonprofit, or for-profit state registration experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Exceptionally focused, detail-oriented, consistent, organized, and precise
  • Maintains a proven track record of working quickly while maintaining work integrity
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and multitask in a rapidly-evolving environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Enjoys the challenge of new, complex problems and learning of new information
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a highly complex and fast-paced environment that requires detail and execution of each registration.
  • Participates as a strong teammate but works independently and is a self-starter
  • Is physically and mentally able to work 40+ hours per week


Compensation and Benefits:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $20. The hourly rate is commensurate with experience.

This position is a fully remote, Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week. Local candidates may work a hybrid-schedule from our Carlsbad, CA; Rockville, MD; or Lancaster, PA offices.
