Position Summary

Under general supervision, this position shall provide support for Grant PUD’s NERC Reliability Compliance Program. While developing a comprehensive understanding of the NERC Reliability Compliance Program, this position will provide a focused effort on the daily maintenance of the tools used to track and monitor compliance activities and tasks for both “Operations and Planning” and “Critical Infrastructure Protection” Reliability Standards. Reliability activities, tasks, and business process initiatives are designed to assure Grant PUD meet its NERC Regulatory obligations thoroughly and on a timely basis.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supports the management of Grant PUD’s Reliability Compliance Program; is responsible for the daily maintenance of the tools used to communicate, track, and monitor compliance tasks, initiatives, and activities; and develop a comprehensive understanding of the NERC Reliability Compliance Program.
  • Assists Reliability Compliance and Grant PUD staff with managing and meeting the objectives of the Reliability Compliance Program and assures that the utility maintains compliance with Reliability Standards; maintain compliance evidentiary records related to NERC/WECC reliability compliance including operations and planning, cyber security and physical security. Participate and be responsive to Regulator inquiries including spot-checks, investigations, annual self-certification, audits, etc. and responding to data requests, coordination of compliance evidence, preparing reports, organizing and presenting evidence.
  • Maintain and work to improve databases, spreadsheets, SharePoint lists, DocMinder Tasks and other tools used to track compliance tasks, initiatives, and related activities. In addition to maintaining program specific tasks and processes, this position supports the development and maintenance of all programmatic processes and procedures regarding the Internal Compliance Program, meeting compliance obligations, status reporting, and internal controls.
  • Communicate knowledgeably and effectively about the Reliability Compliance Program, compliance program initiatives, disseminate the proper information and documentation to the appropriate parties;provide support for compliance staff, coordinate and communicate to ensure the timely completion of all work.
  • Staff shall demonstrate commitment to Grant PUD’s mission, vision, values, strategic plan and Vision 2021. The incumbent should be familiar with these organizational priorities and behave in a way that aligns with these expectations.
  • Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & procedures.
  • Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to:
    • Following all safety policies and procedures;
    • Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions;
    • Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor; and
    • Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance.

Education and Experience

  • 2-year degree is desirable (equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree).
  • 4+ years’ experience in a compliance related field or similar discipline.

License and Certification

  • A valid State driver’s license with no restrictions.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of – Grant PUD policies and procedures; what the North American Reliability Corporation is (desirable)

Skill in – written and oral communications; use of standard office workstation applications including but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint; use of SharePoint; use of office technology for extend periods or time to perform daily work assignments; attention to detail; sifting through data to spot omissions, errors, and/ or inconsistences; analyzing and solving problems logically and conceptually; implementing technology projects; applying continuous improvement principles to all aspects of daily work activities.
