Position Summary:
Responsible for the delivery of primary care
Requirements:
Familiarity with chronic health issues including, but not limited to diabetes, hypertension and asthma, communicable diseases, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and mental illness.
Ability to work independently within scope of nursing practice with little supervision.
Ability to communicate and work with diverse populations, including clients in a pre release correctional facility
Ability to manage multiple tasks and produce expected results. Good leadership, interpersonal, team-building and communications skills.
Responsibilities:
Perform basic health assessments and screenings.
Perform basic procedures, including venipunctures, injections, EKG’s, and assisting with other procedures.
Work collaboratively with other health professionals to facilitate care for clients in a pre release correctional facility
Participate in community outreach, such as immunizations and health education as needed.
Qualifications:
Registered nurse with current Ohio licensure; BSN preferred.
Minimum three years nursing experience, computer literacy required.
Previous experience in a correctional facility desired
Experience as a provider of clinical services; primary care, chronic care, outpatient, community health
Epic EHR and My Chart experience preferred
