POSITION PURPOSE:
This position assumes responsibility and accountability for providing nursing care for patients and their families across outpatient behavioral health. Assure expert, compassionate, individualized nursing care for patients and families. This position actively collaborates with providers, clinicians, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction.
  • Provides direct patient care, monitoring, and critical support for psychiatric specialty services including, but not limited to: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Ketamine, and plant based medicines.
  • Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
  • Monitors behavioral health and medical condition of patient and reports changes to appropriate provider.
  • Ensures cleanliness, adequate stock of supplies and functioning equipment in examination rooms; Replaces supplies depleted daily. Oversees and coordinates Medication supply ordering, maintenance, and audits. This includes serving as a DEA proxy and directly interfacing with representatives such as MagStem and Spravato.
  • In coordination with the authorizing physician, completes all pre-procedure paperwork including patient screening, education, identifying contraindication, preauthorization, and coordination of potential doc-to-doc communications.
  • Administer all psychiatric specialty treatments according to protocols provided by behavioral health professionals and in alignment with local, state, federal regulatory, compliance, and legal requirements.
  • Coordinates care across the health service continuum (clinic/inpatient/community) to assure appropriate utilization of clinical and community resources.
  • Maintains an active panel of patients that are identified by risk stratification within psychiatric specialty serves and serve as the point of contact for these complex patients
  • Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statute.
  • Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information, and assistance.
  • Coordinates patient care with other disciplines on the health care team, Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
  • Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
  • One year of nursing experience preferred.
License(s):
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
Certification(s):
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Education:
  • Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.
Pay is based upon relevant education and experience.

Pay Range:

$30.32—$49.84 USD
