JOB TITLE: Full-Time Registered Nurse – Charge NurseDEPARTMENT: Nursing
JOB SUMMARY: Has primary responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. Plans, provides, and documents discharge planning, teaching, and educates patients, family or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care. Assures that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Demonstrated ability in nursing practice. Has effective oral and written communication skills.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas.
D. Experience:
1. Prior Work Experience: One year experience of professional nursing experience preferred.
2. Technical Training: Current CPR certification. ACLS preferred.
3. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require moderate physical activity including extended periods of standing and walking. Also required is bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting required when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
