Saint Simons By-The-Sea is currently recruiting for RN (7p-7a), under the direction of the DON/ADON/House Supervisor, to coordinate routine scheduling of staff, acuity, staffing grid; check on patients frequently and report any condition change to the Supervisor; call physicians for orders; make pertinent charting entries; give ordered medications and treatments; give comprehensive nursing care plans; does patient teaching and follow-up, makes out reports and requisitions.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited too:
  • Follows hospital policy and procedures regarding daily assignment of RN/LPN and MHA staff including completion of shift assignment sheets.
  • Receives report from off-going shift and gives a concise, accurate reporting to oncoming nursing staff.
  • Makes patient rounds independently as needed and assesses particular patient needs with detailed attention to those patients requiring special care.
  • Organizes, plans, assigns, supervises, and evaluates and is responsible for direct nursing care given within the units. Communicates problems or concerns to the nurse manager/House Supervisor.
  • Develops and updates multidisciplinary treatment plans as needed and contributes to treatment team planning, as required.
  • Serves as a liaison between nursing service and other departments in day-to-day working situations.
  • Assists in evaluation of nursing care services reporting problems and suggestions for improvement to the nurse manager/House Supervisor.
  • Assists and instructs staff in special procedures or treatments. Implements emergency procedures, including restraints and seclusion.
  • Writes incident reports as needed for patients and assists with Employee Injury reports for staff.

Qualifications


All qualified candidates must have:
  • Registered Nurse license within the State of Georgia
  • Must possess a minimum of a Degree in Nursing, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 1+ year Nursing experience, preferably in Psych Nursing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be certified in CPR
