Regional Sales Manager - Registered Investment Advisors and Regional Banks - South Central Territory
Role Summary
Promote the distribution of TRPIS/TRPA investment management strategies through registered investment advisors (RIAs) and regional banks. Primary responsibilities are to provide relationship management, investment-related reviews, and sales ideas, positioning of investment strategies and thematic investment content directly to targeted wealth managers. This is done primarily through external face-to-face meetings at the client locations, as well as industry events, with a goal to increase product share and build TRP awareness.
Principle Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains constructive working relationships with regional banks and Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) that exist in defined region/territory. Key touch points include the CIO, Research Analysts, Product Manager, Fund Board, and key internal and external sales professionals. Aligns T. Rowe Price (TRP) resources (senior management, PM access, product capacity, marketing materials, due diligence requests, meeting support, administrative and operational support, client reporting and marketing allowances) to sustain world class service to build customer loyalty and satisfaction. Ensures overall service plan continuity by maintaining alignment of multiple internal and external parties. Identifies/communicates assigned relationships’ trends for input into planning cycle. Role also entails retaining accounts during periods of underperformance. Incumbent must meet performance goals that are benchmarked against internal and third-party customer satisfaction ratings, AUM, and net new flows. Responsible for new business development to prospects or by cross selling to existing accounts. The Regional Sales Director uses a high degree of investment and product knowledge and sophisticated prospecting and negotiation skills to influence CFAs, internal and external consultants, CIOs, and product managers. Using a consultative approach and a discipline sales process they will identify and qualify appropriate prospects, develop a ‘trusted advisor” relationship, and help them find solutions to address their investment needs. Develops and maintains lists of prioritized prospects and key short and long-term opportunities. Tracks territory sales measurements towards attainment of sales/service goals. Develops annual business plan for the territory and client plans for largest clients and monitors progress. Coaches and mentors Internal Sales staff.
Qualifications
Preferred
  • External sales or client management experience in industry (have hired several experienced associates from outside TRP with several years of financial advising, wholesaling, institutional equity sales)
  • Working knowledge of Bank Trust, RIAs, and Advisory product platforms
  • CFA, CFP, CIMA, or MBA
Required
  • College degree preferred and 7 years of related work experience
  • Superior communication/presentation skills
  • Advanced investment/product knowledge
  • Advanced relationship management/sales skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and interact with client senior management
  • Ability to act as ambassador for entire TRP platform
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of TRP mutual fund and sub-advised policies
  • Able to follow a disciplined approach to targeting potential business
  • Able to establish credibility and rapport by balancing persistence with relaxed follow-up
  • Consultative selling skills
  • Able to apply systemic approach to problem solving and effectively use data and analytical tools.

Base salary range for the location(s) of:
Colorado Springs, CO $135,000 - $244,000
New York, NY $135,000 - $244,000
San Francisco, CA $135,000 - $244,000
The State of Washington $135,000 - $244,000
This role requires the FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses within first 4 months in the role.
