Basic Purpose:

The Regional Director of Sales will have a crucial role in overseeing the leisure sales managers and coordinators at three different resorts, including Maui, Oahu and Hualalai on the Hawaii Island. They will be responsible for managing and motivating the sales team to ensure they are meeting their sales targets and driving revenue for the organization. This will involve setting clear goals and expectations for the team, and providing regular coaching and feedback to help them improve their performance. This position is eligible to work remotely.

In addition to overseeing the sales team, the Regional DOS will also work closely with Marketing Directors to lead the sales and marketing team. This will involve developing and implementing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and generate leads converting into sales. This individual will benefit from aiding in the development of the Leisure Segment Marketing Plan and initiatives to achieve these goals at all three resorts.

One key aspect of this role is acting as a liaison between the remote regional sales team, the resorts, and the global sales team. This will involve communicating regularly with stakeholders across different locations, and ensuring that everyone is aligned and working towards common goals.

The Regional DOS will also be responsible for developing budgets and business plans, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing systems and reporting, and overseeing account management. This will involve being highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Finally, it is important for the Regional DOS to have strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and sales administration skills. They will need to be able to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and partners, while also maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity as a representative of Four Seasons.

Essential Functions

  • Direct all aspects of the sales leadership and administration for three individual properties and the region overall. This requires in-depth comprehension of the market position of each property to the leisure travel market, as well as the unification of luxury Hawaii to gain traction with new business development and tourism at large. This leader makes a practice to learn what is working and what is not working to help develop and encourage the innovations for new experiences to drive better business results. This individual is well versed in the development of market plans and sales goals for each market and manager under his/her responsibility, and knows how to coach and guide for optimum results.
  • Develops annual sales goals for each manager and property requirements and provides comprehension of what proportion is repeat business, increase share of current customers, new business from each market.
  • He/She supervises the Travel Industry Sales Managers who work remotely and the property’s on-site Sales Coordinators. Ensures a smooth flow, accuracy, and completeness of all documentation necessary to the sales administration department functions.

  • Assist in the strategic formulation and development of the annual business plan alongside the property Directors of Marketing for the leisure sales initiatives, new experiences, and campaigns to meet the financial goals for each resort.

  • Responsible for key strategic accounts and partner programs including contracting, marketing representation, and client management. Hosts a comprehension of the worldwide sales organization, sales managers, and hierarchy. Knows how to engage global sales with purpose, direction, and optimum efficiency of purpose and results.

  • Monitor and review all aspects of the sales process through lead management, sales probability reporting and each sales associate’s database management.

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the sales operations, including training of sales personnel, as it pertains to the presentation, discovery, lead management processes, sales and client/owner reporting

  • Develop and mentor staff through regular performance reviews, career development planning, recruitment and retention.

  • Formulate, develop, and regularly present key sales strategies, activities, return on investment (ROI), competitive positioning and key trends to all key stakeholders.

  • Maintain brand and individual property positioning on all sales presentations, activities, and events.

  • Assist in the recruitment, training, motivation, and coaching of all employees in order to maximize individual performance and productivity.

  • Responsible for the issuance of key account contracting, addendums, and act as a signing agent.

  • Develop and maintain working policies and procedures for the Sales and Sales Administration departments.

  • Serve as representative of the resorts within the Travel Industry and local community.

  • Ensure procedures are in place and measured to deliver a guest/client experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.

  • Comply with the Four Seasons Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact

  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

  • Provide support and assist other departments in a crunch or as circumstances arise.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by direct report.
