Summary

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. We are looking for dynamic hands-on leader for our South region which consists of manufacturing plants in Nashville, TN; Temple, TX; Fort Smith, AR; Mocksville, NC; and Jacksonville, FL.

This Regional Operations leadership role is responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of the respective branches in their region. Primary focuses include P&L leadership combined with operational excellence such as safety, compliance, production, administration, and transportation. Successful execution of these initiatives ensures our customer’s expectations are exceeded, Metal Sales is positioned as the market leader, and profitability is sustained.

Extensive travel (regularly up to 75%) is required.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Strategic planning, communication and execution of regional financial/operational goals to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout region
  • Driving a structured continuous improvement approach to meet or exceed operational KPIs including Safety, Scrap, ZBC (Customer Satisfaction), Quality, Labor Productivity, Transportation Efficiency and Inventory Management
  • Building a collaborative branch and regional culture that enhances customer value at all levels of the organization
  • Assisting General Managers in working with the Regional Vice President of Sales in the annual budget setting and goal development processes to drive P&L excellence and sales/profitability growth
  • Training, coaching, and development of Branch General Managers and all other personnel to strengthen organization
  • Recruiting, evaluating, and hiring leaders with the skills, competencies, and talent to propel the organization forward
  • Driving key safety engagement initiatives including the Metal Sales Shared Vigilance program to ensure employee safety and trust as well as compliance with all state and federal laws
  • Participating in Executive Leadership meetings and assisting with the creation and implementation of strategic initiatives and tactical objectives necessary for Metal Sales to be a market leader

Job Requirements:

The most qualified candidates will have:

  • At least 7 years of operational experience in a manufacturing environment with P&L ownership, preferably in the building materials industry
  • Multi-site plant management experience strongly preferred
  • A proven skill set demonstrating effective communication and negotiation, planning and organization, sound judgement, follow-up and control, change management and leadership
  • Ability to work effectively with, inspire, and manage a diverse group of people
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • Ability and desire to travel up to and more than 75% of the time.
