Position Summary
Position will perform repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in the buildings, grounds, and utility/controls systems of KDH. This includes but is not limited to, wrap machines, conveyors, internal and external lighting, loading docks, hydraulics, terminal security, conveyor belts, motors, vehicles, lift equipment, safety equipment, and assisting with refrigeration maintenance, repair, documentation, and emergency response.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge in the safety, operation, and maintenance of an ammonia refrigeration plant
- Troubleshoot and repair facility refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, structure, and dock systems
- Create a planned maintenance schedule and provide a budget for those items
- Create an inventory of part with a system for adding, removing, and ordering with in AMOS
- Work with and supervise maintenance staff and vendors
- Insure the safety of the staff and the customers’ products
- Perform light welding
- Maintain logs of facility equipment
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean facility / shops
- Create Jobs and order in AMOS system
- Create and document maintenance processes
- Use Lock Out Tag out and other best safety practices
- Other duties as assigned

- Basic math and accounting skills

- Ability to cross train on all aspects of facility maintenance
- Strong computer skills
Education/Experience Required
Minimum 5 years’ Industrial refrigeration experience
Strong electrical background and experience
Associate’s or related degree preferred
EPA refrigeration certificate
ASTI (Ammonia Safety & Training Institute) or equivalent trained
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and building construction trades
Work Schedule
This position works a 4-months on 2 months off Schedule with one scheduled day off per week
Generally, 70+ hours a week with irregular work periods while in Dutch Harbor
24 hour on-call required when in Dutch Harbor
Periodic travel to Seattle possible
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
