Position Summary:
Performs general clerical work by assisting administrative staff with clerical and receptionist duties. Receives visitors, patients, physicians, staff and ascertains their needs and directs them accordingly.
Greet and assist the public in a manner that supports the Guest Relations Policy of the hospital, provides information and directs visitors to the hospital location they need, obtaining photos, ID Checks using Visitor Management System.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
At least two years of clerical/receptionist experience in a professional setting, hospital preferred. Must be able to type at least 55 words per minute and use Microsoft Office products. Ability to work with people in a professional, tactful and diplomatic manner. Ability to organize and prioritize activities. Ability to work with a variety of changing activities. Ability to hold in confidence highly, sensitive information and materials. Verbal ability is needed to comprehend and communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff and the public.
Prior experience in a medical setting. Experience dealing with the public. Must have an understanding of computer skills. Ability to communicate with people under stress. Must possess excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities. The ability to demonstrate maturity and exercise judgement in accommodating the needs of patients’ families and visitors within existing Health System policies as required. Promotes excellent customer service skills.

Work is predominately sedentary. Near visual acuity and good hearing are essential. Reaching and handling are necessary in completion of tasks.
Must be able to communicate orally, see and hear to collect information.
