Job Title: Receiving Inspector
Department: Quality
Summary Counts, measures, or weighs articles to verify contents of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or storage receipts. Verifies quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of products and items of merchandise ready for shipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company’s quality control system, legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities conformity to specified standards.
Develops inspection and test plans for new products.
Compares items packed with customer's order and other identifying data.
Attaches identification data onto article.
Records factors causing goods to be returned.
Stamps mark of approval or rejection on product and writes report of examinations.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to three years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
