Duties and Responsibilities:
MORNING RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory (check in) recent delivery
Compare inventory to invoices
Compare invoices to order sheets
Ensure all requisitions are signed before order is released to department
Direct billed items- these products are delivered to departments immediately
RECEIVING OF PRODUCT FROM VENDOR
Make sure product is correct before signing any invoices.
Ascertain whether meat, seafood and produce are of acceptable quality using extreme care
Ensure products are carefully documented and guaranteed as fresh and top quality
Use a scale to weigh meats and seafood
STOCK ROTATION AND PRODUCT STORAGE
Inventory stock, label and date
Put away, rotate and move stock as needed
Maintain the freezer, dry, paper and liquor storage area
Neatness and cleanliness
Rotation of stock
INCOMING PACKAGES/OUTGOING PACKAGES
Record and log all packages received from UPS, FedEx, Airborne, etc.
Ensure signed purchase order form is included and package destination address is written on PO.
Ensure packages have completed ‘Parcel information sheet” accompanying it, have an account number written, and must be able to refuse to take the package if an account number is not provided and explain why to the guest
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Interact effectively with all departments
Answer the telephone in a professional manner
Professionally place calls and orders to vendors (document conversations)
Resolve customer service issues and seek help from Supervisor if necessary
CLOSING PROCEDURES
Enter data of requisitions into computers
Remaining invoices from the “Tray” should be written in the log, divided up by departments, and sorted appropriately
Complete an entry in the “Nightly Diary” informing the opening staff of events occurring from the previous evening.
Sweep inside and outside areas of Receiving department and mop floors if time permits
Locking up duties
OTHER
Self-motivation
Organize a set of daily plans
Follow safety procedures for lifting heavy items
Other duties as assigned
