Performs intermediate administrative work providing supportive, accessible and highly responsive customer relation services to individuals, families, community providers and staff, promoting ideals inherent to providing culturally-competent and person centered services that embrace the values and principles of personal wellness and recovery, self-determination, empowerment and the protection of human rights, enhancing agency responsiveness through partnering and coordinating efforts with internal and external service providers and advocacy groups, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees the RBHA complaint resolution process; tracks and manages human rights and general complaints via Red Cap and the Computerized Human Rights Information System (CHRIS); responds to individuals, family members, staff, community members and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS); completes required reporting on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Participates in clinical staffing’s as the advocate for individuals served by the agency.
  • Assists with coverage for incident reports one day a week and one weekend a month, or more as needed. Includes reporting serious incident reports to CHRIS, conducting investigations and tracking within required timeframes.
  • Serves as the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator for the individuals served by the agency.
  • Facilitates and provides staff support to the Voices United in Recovery Group and editor of The Phoenix Rising Publication.
  • Develops and provides information to RBHA staff and individuals on various topics related to recovery principles, person centered care, mental health, substance use, developmental disabilities, crisis, advocacy and human rights.
  • Serves on RBHA Access Committee and Advocacy Committee; serves as liaison to local advocacy organizations for staff and individual participation in the Annual Coalition Rally and General Assembly Annual Budget Hearing. Serves on other community boards or groups as needed/requested.
  • Coordinates community requests for RBHA’s participation in health fairs and special events.
  • Orders and maintains informational materials for the RBHA as needed.
  • Collaborates with Director of Compliance and provides updates to policies and procedures related to human rights regulatory changes and ADA compliance as needed.
