Radiation Therapist Needed at Silver Spring, MD

We are currently seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at a medical facility located in Silver Spring, MD. This position is for a day shift with 5x8-hour shifts (11:00 - 23:00) and is for a 13-week renewable contract.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Aria EMR Varian Truebeam machine or is open to training. We are flexible with the shift and are open to mids.

Requirements:

• Active Radiation Therapist license in Maryland
• BLS certification
• Must be able to work independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with Aria EMR Varian Truebeam machine or open to training

Responsibilities:

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the treatment plan prescribed by the radiation oncologist
• Monitor and assess patient condition during treatment sessions, and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition
• Ensure accurate patient positioning and alignment for precise delivery of radiation therapy
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including simulation and treatment planning systems
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment
• Educate patients and their families on the radiation therapy process, possible side effects, and self-care during treatment
• Document treatment information, patient progress, and other relevant data in electronic medical records
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Valid and active Radiation Therapist license in the state of Maryland
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
• Knowledge of radiation therapy techniques, equipment, and procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Familiarity with radiation safety protocols and regulatory requirements
