Technical Services is seeking a Technical Specialist to join our large engineering program in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) WJHTC in EHT, NJ. • Provide authoritative leadership and technical advice to other members of the team.
• Participate and lead technical interchange meetings.
• Conduct or participate in formal and informal reviews at predetermined points throughout the development life cycle.
• Provide technical guidance and participation in Process Improvement.
• Knowledge of test equipment including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, logic analyzer
• Proficiency in analysis of existing Requirements, Testing and Compliance Procedures/Documents.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Travel throughout the country to different ASR-9 Radar sites to support local technicians in maintaining and modifying equipment. In this position, travel is not a priority however availability with a short notice to do so, is required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required and ten (10) years of related experience including at least five (5) years of NAS experience. Demonstrated expertise at Technical Specialist 4 level. An Associate's Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of two (2) years of experience. A Bachelor's Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of four (4) years of experience.

• As a Radar Technical Specialist that would be responsible for the following:

• Troubleshoot, analyze and determine operational issues and recommend solutions.
• Design, develop, and test modern solutions to incorporate into existing systems and equipment.
• Generate installation and test procedures for system modification and verification.
• Perform all aspects of system verification, including all phases of the testing process.
• Develop and execute test plan and procedures in an operational environment.
• Direct and coordinate with outside vendors to manufacture prototypes and production units including development of Manufacturing Specifications.
• Research new technologies that would be integrated in the ASR-9.
• Providing 2nd level engineering support to ASR-9 modifications installed in the field to include onsite or over the phone.
• Provide 2nd level maintenance and engineering for data management as well as for operational subsystems of the ASR-9.
