Job Description
The Process Development Manager (PDM) leads one of the three key process platforms (Extrusion, Printing, and Converting/Specialty). The leader will be responsible for providing new process capability solutions aligned with key product development platforms and business strategy. The efforts are intended to advance Amcor’s process capability globally. The PDM team works closely with product development, procurement, manufacturing, and other stake holders to develop equipment and vendor strategies. A high degree of communication is required across the organization to align on process strategy and share best practices.

Accountable for leveraging expertise and process solutions across business groups.
Accountable for creating vendor strategies, developmental projects, and communication via share point.
Participate in the Global Core R&D Leadership function and works actively with business group, R&D, and operations teams.
Development of communication medium and tools.
Development of KPI/metrics in their specific process platform (Extrusion, Printing, Converting/Speciality)
Accountable for creating and managing the respective annual budget (Extrusion, Printing, Converting/Speciality)
Leadership
Develop, support and maintain the safety culture within Amcor and R&D.
Develop, coach and lead teams to advance team’s portfolio development and execution.
Oversee and participate in creation of documentation and training materials for on boarding and continuous education.
Leverage market and business intelligence thru BG’s/BU’s Strat Plan or Multi-Generational Product Plan (MGPP) and identify trends and emergent technologies in order to influence the business.
Guide large-scale process development activities for an assigned business unit, market or technology.
Partners in collaboration and execution with cross functional stake holders.
Create and manage key process technologies (Extrusion/Printing/Converting) to advance technical understanding, identify and execute on top priorities while reporting out impact of key target areas.
Deploy top talent to major initiatives and set clear goals, manage a robust performance discussion with development targets, and create a culture of accountability and excellence to attract and retain talent.
Sustain a high-performance culture, role-modelling assuming positive intent, staying focused on what is important, continuously improving, and coaching the team to do the same. Represent the organization and team in a positive light.
Build forward-looking skillsets in the team to enable business, team and individual results.
Sustain team accountability for accuracy, process quality and managing to target metrics on a cadenced basis. Ensure a globally connected, business-aligned and team-focused operating cadence.
Portfolio Development and Execution
Engage with global stakeholders to develop and apply a multi-year strategy within the specific process platform (Extrusion, Printing, Converting/Speciality) to deliver improved advanced process development capability and performance.
Report out the global technology advancements, best practices, and top priorities within each process platform (Extrusion, Printing, Converting/Speciality).
Define processes and milestones that align projects to our strategy.
Act as liaison between divisions and corporate functions, providing subject matter expertise as applicable.
Collaborate closely with R&D leadership and corporate functions to delivery key initiatives.
Build strong communications and change leadership processes into lead projects collaboratively with the business.
Operational Excellence
Lead and support the development of BG capabilities in developing and maintaining process capabilities for technologies that are new to the business segment.
Advises on resolution to customer (internal or external) related problems by ensuring proper analysis, and interfacing with colleagues, suppliers, and customers as required
Enhance enterprise process knowledge and skills by sharing know-how and best practices.
Deploy processes and methodologies that enable the work (Project Management, Stage Gate methodology, Lean methodology, etc.)
Ensure team is using targeted business systems and tools (SAP, SMS, SharePoint, etc.)
Other:
Use advanced knowledge of materials and processes to influence design solutions across the organization.
Hold team accountable for managing targeted platform metrics.
Partner internally to manage supplier relationships connected to assigned areas of work. Develop new relationships as applicable
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis on Technology/Engineering.
5-7+ years related to manufacturing and R&D Engineering.
3+ years collaborating and leading across regions to drive solutions and improve business.
3+ years previous leadership experience in building a progressively capable team and showing positive KPI’s.
Demonstrated successful experience in building global working relationships across a matrix organization
Six sigma certification/training preferred.
Previous experience in developing and deploying tools, templates and processes supporting business needs
