I. BROAD FUNCTION

Responsible for reviewing Quality department documents for accuracy and revision status. Supports the Quality Manager, Supervisor and Technicians by ensuring that documents such as specifications, work instructions, plans, charts, forms, reports, and logbooks are current and readily available.

II. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this position are those described below. Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management.

1. Must be familiar with the manufacturing parameters and applicable work instructions.

2. Manage the nonconforming products database and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

3. Review specifications for accuracy, document control and compliance.

4. Communicates all specification changes to production and quality departments. Generates the Quality weekly analytical data reports (Hold Index, Complaints, Foreign Material, Product Evaluation and as required).

5. Supports in the administration and documentation of department’s expenditures and summarize budget activities in a report.

6. Responsible for ordering all laboratory supplies and for maintaining records of orders and invoices.

7. Supports in the preparation of the Weekly/Monthly Production Operational report.

8. Performs finished product evaluation (sensory, performance, etc.).

9. Ensure that Quality department activities comply with procedures standards.

10. Assists in the supervision of Technicians I, II in the absence of the Quality Supervisor.

11. Assist and perform training and safety audits.

12. Actively participate in the quality programs and plant programs such as: (Internal Auditors, Pre-Operational Inspections, Food Safety Inspections, 5S’s Audits, and required

Education:

A. EDUCATION:

  • High School graduate - must be able to read and write English and Spanish.
  • Good math skills. • Must speak and read English and Spanish.
  • Ample knowledge of computers, Excel and Windows required.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • 2 years of college level work preferred. B. EXPERIENCE
  • 1 Year in a tortilleria, bakery or food plant.

Must be able to perform simple analytical tests.

  • 6 months experience in a laboratory environment preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.50 - $25.00 per hour
