Gray America Corp is hiring a detailed Quality Technician to support the Quality Department in ensuring our family of companies maintain and continuously improve our quality standards. This opportunity is Part Time (15-25 hours per week) and is perfect for someone looking for mid-day hours due to other personal obligations.
The Quality Technician has the delegated authority from the Director of Quality, with the direct supervision from the Supplier/Quality Analyst, for implementing and ensuring compliance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Responsibilities
- Understand and communicate internal/external customer quality program requirements, deliverables, and timing requirements
- Provides Quality Reports as it relates to our QMS
- Assists in providing Process Measurable Performance data and Quality information.
- Assists in all audit activities related to Internal, External, and 3rd party QMS audits, process audits, Management Review Meetings and Continuous Improvement Meetings.
- Issue Material certifications and Certification of Compliance for U-Bolt/Treaded Rod products.
- Have experience in creating PPAP’s, Control Plans and P-FMEA’s.
- Maintain the calibration system of all Measuring, Testing and Inspection Equipment
- Maintain the inventory of all Measuring, Testing and Inspection Equipment
- Assist in providing material disposition on nonconforming material or supplier rejections.
- Learn and understand the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results and follow-up.
- Have experienced with the following software programs: Word, Excel, Power Point Visio, and Minitab
- Proficient skills in writing, typing and data entry for report
- Other Duties as assigned
Experience/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Strong MS Office Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with plant staff and management to relay quality issues
- Quality Audits (preferred)
- Detail Oriented (required)
