Rantec is an upper-tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for the military and aerospace markets. We are an engineering-based company, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test.

Position Summary

Perform incoming, in-process and final inspection of raw materials, fabricated parts, sub-assemblies, and finished power supplies to assure compliance with contract requirements. Perform expeditious and accurate product requirements verification. Assist in AS9100 Quality Management System support activities including internal audit, calibration, document control, ESD control, non-conformance and corrective actions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs receiving, in-process and final inspection to assure product compliance with engineering design, purchase order requirements, workmanship quality standards, applicable specifications, and commodity product requirements.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering change orders, assembly, and inspection instructions.
• Uses standard electrical and mechanical inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Maintains records of rejected/accepted material.
• Performs audits of specific areas, processes and procedures.
• Performs related duties of QA department as assigned.
• Supports quality system improvement activities.
• Maintain a neat and orderly workspace.
• Consistent attendance and continually decrease escapes from receiving and final inspection.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with or Trainable to electrical and mechanical inspection requirements, incl. J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 and MIL-STDs.
• Familiar with AS9100 or similar ISO Certified Quality Management System requirements.
• Two years related experience or equivalent.
• Trainable in component recognition, identification, and data sheet or drawing requirements.
• Able to use hand measuring tools such as height gages, calipers, pin gages, etc.
• Understands the significant importance of this “gate keeper” role to the overall quality and success of Rantec’s business.
• Possess strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel and Access.
• Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees as well as outside sources.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills to meet demands of fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on solid reasoning regarding acceptance/rejection of material.
