Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer – Supplier Quality

NTN USA Corporation has an immediate opening in our Quality Assurance Department for a Quality Assurance Engineer – Supplier Quality. This individual will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Responsibilities

· Understand and support company quality objectives

· Understand the manufacturing process flow of each internal and external manufacturing process.

· In depth knowledge of how supplier – supplied part quality can impact internal processes

· Strong follow up skills required

· Ability to define root cause (analysis) and determine corrective actions for internal and external quality problems.

· Ability to speak English Fluently and Ability to lead meetings is mandatory.

· Ability to work with suppliers to develop and monitor new product quality and address quality related issues.

· Conduct Supplier Quality Audits

· Provide information for supplier quarterly scorecards

· Evaluate and approve supplier PPAP

· Provide Support for other ANBM Departments

Supervisory Responsibilities

· Direct supervision of incoming quality hourly staff members and ability to work closely with suppliers and hourly – salaried ANBM Staff Members is required.

Competencies

· Ability to speak English fluently is mandatory. Ability to lead meetings is required. Ability to define root cause (analysis) and determine corrective actions for internal and external quality problems is mandatory.

· Requires strong follow up skills to make sure related activities are on time.

· Understand the manufacturing process flow of each internal and external manufacturing process. In depth knowledge of how the supplier supplied part quality can impact internal processes.

· Analyze and validate the quality of product made from internal and external manufacturing processes.

· Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

· Ability to use automotive quality core tools – APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.

· Develop standards related to manufacturing processes.

· Must be able to work directly with suppliers and be able to cascade customer specific requirements to each tier of the supply base.

· Work closely with NTN Sales and Applications Engineering Staff for all new and current product and process changes.

· Ability to use inventory control system. – JD Edwards Inventory Experience is a Plus

· IATF Certified Auditor

· VDA Certified Auditor Preferred.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.

· 3 years of quality manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

· Experience in automotive industry preferred.

Language Skills

· English

· Spanish (a plus)

· Japanese (a plus)

Mathematical Skills

· High school level math skills, statistics

Reasoning Ability

· Ability to problem - solve involving manufacturing processes that can influence or change product quality.

Computer Skills

Microsoft Office

Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software is a plus.

Experience with drafting software (i.e. MicroCADAM, Solidworks,etc.) is a plus.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
