The Quality Engineer for our R & D organization will have the responsibility for the quality activities for 2 R & D Centers (Mason, OH and Boston, MA) working in close collaboration with project management, development, production and purchasing. This individual will monitor the execution and compliance of all quality aspects and define quality measures. Some key responsibilities will be as follows:

• Ensures quality of design
• Defines and assures quality goals
• Supports in the definition and labeling of critical characteristics in technical documentation
• Assurance, validation verification and support for creating the Control Plan
• Creation and execution of testing
• Monitoring of problem and failure analysis in pilot and start of production phase
• Compilation of the verification procedure for product and process release
• Coordinates customer complaints
• Processes, evaluates and approves changes

• Bachelors degree in quality or related technical field
• Tests and validates all aspects of products, systems, and applications prior to customer rollout, according to quality assurance standards and protocols
• Determines the important quality factors and figures out how to meet those factors. Plans what resources will be needed, determines the cost of those resources, plans timelines for competing the project, outlines the steps it will take, and assigns the tasks and responsibility to the responsible person.
• Can use necessary quality methods in the relevant processes
• Knowledgeable of current normative foundations (ISO 9001, ISO 13485). Can establish and audit a management system according to the requirements
• Conducts rigorous tests and inspections of products, services, solutions, or processes to evaluate and to control quality or performance
• Is familiar with contractual liability, non-contractual liability, tortious product liability, advisor’s liability and knows measures of risk minimization
• 50% travel
