SUMMARY:

Responsible for the quality conformance of NN Inc. Precision Components Group products and processes to internal, external, and customer requirements. Leads process improvement, and corrective action activities. Provides statistical data analysis expertise to the organization. Assures APQP activities are conducted according to requirements and in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conducts all duties and operations in a safe manner observing all safety rules.
  • Monitors Customer quality performance and initiates programs to ensure customer expectations and specific requirements are met.
  • Supports on-time delivery and company profitability.
  • Monitors supplier quality performance and initiates programs to ensure suppliers meet organization and customer expectations.
  • Assists TS/PPAP Coordinator with customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) being properly completed and according to schedule.
  • Key team member in program launch, machine qualification and equipment validation.
  • Implements Statistical Process Control (SPC) in appropriate operations; conducts training programs for affected associates and monitors SPC data for adverse trends.
  • In addition to the essential duties the incumbent may:
  • Develop precision measuring equipment programs (i.e. CMM, IM, Perthometer, etc.). Develop training programs for associates in the proper use of precision measuring equipment. Provides support for the trainers.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions of precision measuring equipment. Works directly with the manufacturer as needed.
  • Works closely with customer to ensure correlation of precision measuring equipment results. Troubleshoots. Point of contact with the customer.
  • Point of contact for reliability, maintainability and product safety issues.
  • Provides assistance with metrology, inspection and testing issues.
  • Leads detailed problem solving and continuous improvements activities. Assures that corrective actions are assigned and aptly completed for internal, external, and customer non-conformances.
  • Participates in discrepant material evaluation and specification interpretation.
  • Provides quality assurance leadership through effective communications, coaching, training and development of associates. Sets goals and objectives and provides support to operations.
  • Accomplishes internal quality system audits.
  • Facilitate work teams for maintaining work instructions in compliance with system requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of 4 years progressive quality assurance experience in an automotive component manufacturing, or related, environment.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.
  • Thorough knowledge of TS and ISO standards, particularly as related to product realization.
  • Quality system knowledge of TS or equivalent with emphasis Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process (control plans, FMEA, PPAP).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to think ahead and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to make presentations to associates, customers and suppliers.
  • Detailed knowledge of quality assurance processes and practices including, but not limited to, statistics, root cause analysis, auditing, PDCA, lean, six sigma, gauging, inspection.
  • Project management skills
  • Internal auditing and supplier auditing skills
  • Thorough knowledge of kaizen and lean manufacturing techniques
  • Computer proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and project management software.

CERTIFICATION/TRAINING REQUIRED

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt highly preferred.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
