Overview / Responsibilities:

Wood is currently sourcing a Quality Assistant/Coordinator to join the Wood Quality team for a project in Midland, TX


Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required


CWI/API/NACE is not required. Experience with quality oversight of welding, structural steel and civil crafts required.


This position will primarily be responsible for working with the Project Manager to ensure the requirements of quality standards for pipeline and facility projects during construction, including all related materials, structures, equipment, components, and systems and testing are adhered to.


  • Assist in receiving materials used for construction to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate non-destructive examinations on completed work in accordance with codes and project requirements.
  • Assist project team with inspections to verity that work has been completed in accordance with project quality requirements.
  • Maintenance of project documentation in both electronic and hard copy form and provide copies for client.
  • Track completed work in database, provide updates to project leadership according to project requirements.
  • Facilitate completion of inspection reports for project documentation.


Skills / Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of above requirements with field experience and ability to read and interpret quality instructions, document, plan and perform work activities independently.


EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in both written and verbal form.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant Gas, Pipeline, Civil, Structural, Equipment work history
  • Must be able to work independently while demonstrating strong qualities and integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with quality management systems
  • Computer literacy applied to data management, collection, and reporting.
  • Valid driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Experience in Quality Control activities on assigned projects at construction sites.
  • Basic knowledge pertaining to welding, pressure testing, coating, civil, and torquing.
  • Assist in implementing quality assurance and quality policies onsite
  • Process paperwork regarding material testing and QA/QC.
  • Working onsite at field locations
