The Quality Control Technician conducts standard laboratory tests and routine experiments requiring the use of well-established procedures, with some understanding of related principles. These tests may be in support of a product release, equipment qualification or validation, process improvements, product transfers or other site initiatives. We look for you to prepare reports and recommend solutions to technical problems. You will work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:


  • Perform quality control tests using the analytical instrumentation.
  • Organize sample workflow while prioritizing duties.
  • Calculate test results, log, and report results using a computer.
  • Create certificates of analysis for finished goods.
  • Create nonconformity reports.
  • Communicate sample issues interdepartmentally.
  • Review test data to ensure results meet all specifications.
  • Receive or collect and process samples.
  • Perform quality control checks and calibrate equipment, if necessary.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation issues at a beginner level.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
  • Suggest revisions to control documents and standard operating procedures.
  • Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:


  • 3+ years of analytical quality control experience, related laboratory experience or relevant Science degree.
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality systems (example ISO9001).
  • Motivated, detail oriented, and organized.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and multi-task projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline. Ability to work in teams to obtain results by effectively completing assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with the following analytical methods: BET, pycnometry, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), TXRF, and particle size distribution.
  • Motivated, detail oriented, with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and multi-task projects.
  • Self-starter attitude and proactive approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a team player.
  • Startup experience.

The base pay range for this role is $24/hr to $29/hr ($1.50 additional per hour for the night or weekend shift). Actual pay depends on various factors, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
