Audubon is currently seeking a Quality Control Lead Inspector to join our team in the Baytown, TX area. The Quality Control Lead Inspector is the client's representative to oversee and inspect General Contractor and sub trades on behalf of the Owner. This person also inspects application with respect to specification, code, drawings and contract requirements. The Inspector will report to a Construction Manager or Project Manager and may support additional craft inspection as necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Areas of Responsibility will include:

  • Oversight of Quality Inspections of General Contractor and sub trades on behalf of the Owner
  • Signing off of ITPs and check sheets with respect to completion of work
  • Reviewing as built documentation and ensuring it is being completed
  • Oversite of all NDE
  • Visual inspections of welding and general fabrication and tracking repairs
  • Witness testing Hydro testing flushing etc.
  • Reviewing and assisting General Contractor with Construction Hand over documentation and being a sign off authority for acceptance
  • Punch listing close out verifications

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction required
  • Places safety as a first priority.
  • Extensive knowledge of fabrication procedures is required.
  • Civil
  • Structural
  • Piping
  • Painting
  • Insulation
  • Mechanical API 650 Tank onsite Fabrication
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation and General Electrical preferred but not required
  • Problem solving abilities must be evident.
  • Good communication skills with crew members as well as clients are vital.
  • Must be able to work for stretches of 7 days or longer at a time.
  • Travel to and from worksites and/or fabrication shops around the country may be required
