JOB SUMMARY:

Fuji Food Products is a national food manufacturing company with over 30 years of exceptional expertise in RTE (ready to eat), and RTH (ready to heat) fresh products. The QA Technician is responsible for the control of product quality, quantity, and safety while following cGMP, HACCP, FDA and USDA guidelines. This position is responsible to interface and interact with the USDA Inspector on the daily basis to ensure compliance. One must have the ability to monitor the critical control points (CCP) set in the Company’s HACCP plan and to enforce prompt and necessary corrective actions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education-

  • High School diploma or 3 years’ experience in a FDA or an USDA quality control environment.

Training & Experience-

  • A working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOPs and FDA, USDA principles FSSC 22000 clauses is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-

  • Ability to communicate in writing and orally in English. Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work under limited supervision.
  • Must show good people skills and able to multi-task and work under pressure and good organizational skills.
  • Competence of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with an ability to interact with employees and others at any level within an organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with extreme professionalism
  • Ability to learn and apply departmental or Company policies, procedures and rules.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain co-operative working relationships with employees, managers, Company leadership, vendors and medical providers.
  • Ability to inspect and document findings of incoming raw materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor product processes from raw material to finished product stages and ensure compliance with FDA and/or USDA regulation.
  • Perform corrective actions when HACCP critical limits are exceeded.
  • Ensure proper dating of raw material and its condition/quality.
  • Ensure that proper rotation of all materials first in/first out (FIFO) is followed by production employees.
  • Ensure all the employees follow GMP inside the Production area.
  • Maintenance and verification of daily Production and Sanitation records, including:
  • Rice Logs - Type of rice, cooking time, cooling time, and rice cooling temperature.
  • Avocado Logs - Batch number and the start/finish time.
  • Hold and Release Logs - Date, time, items, actual weight, stated weight, and net weight.
  • Metal Detector Logs - Date, start time, finish time, description, SKU#, and calibration size.
  • Sanitation Logs - ATP inspection, daily pre-op, daily sanitation, processing sanitation.
  • Package Weight Monitoring Logs.
  • Temperature Logs.
  • Ensure that all employees’ record real-time data or any other appropriate information requested on the forms.
  • Report all manufacturing defects and rejections in the facility to the related department or management.
  • Execute USDA inspector requests.
  • Responsible for collecting samples for product retention.
  • Evaluate finished products prior to release, including: inspection for correct packaging, coding, labeling, and product formulation.
  • Organize quality control and batch records for the QAQC Manager.
  • Execute any other investigation or projects given by the QAQC or R&D Manager.
