Service Specialist Training Program – Account Manager Trainee

Job Description

The Service Specialist Training (SST) Program is designed to prepare you for a fulfilling, lifelong career with MarshMcLennan Agency. This is a one-year learning and development program with a focus on the service side of the insurance industry. The team provides agency-wide processing support to Commercial Lines insurance in parallel with learning the fundamentals of the industry through a structured curriculum. Continuous development efforts are always underway in the SST program. In addition to the practice provided through the processing work, the program provides transitional training and preparations for the next role by way of concept introduction to AM-level assignments, recurring group review sessions, opportunities to “bridge” with different departments, roundtable discussions with industry experts, presentations on real-life claims scenarios, and interactive insurance-related games and trivia. To tackle the extensive amount of processing work, the team sets monthly goals to stay on schedule. We are building the insurance knowledge and confidence of the individual team members, thereby developing the next generation of service professionals.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN SERVICE SPECIALIST TRAINEE:

• Route policy documents and client notices received via mail at our agency
• Develop a knowledge of carrier websites and navigation in order to pull documents on a daily basis
• Upload documents to our client portal as they’re received so that information can be accessed immediately by our clients
• Follow up with carriers for pending policy coverage changes and cancellations
• Review renewal policies, endorsements, and audits against the agency’s data management system for quality assurance purposes
• Invoice mid-term premium changes and deliver with payment instructions to clients
• Obtain loss history as requested by production team
• Issue insurance certificates in accordance with requests received on a daily basis
• A variety of developmental courses and activities throughout your training

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• College degree or some combination of education and comparable work experience preferred
• Analytical problem-solving capabilities with a certain level of energy to carry out assignments via computer work.

• Intermediate computer skills including Word, Outlook & Excel
• Proven experience with proprietary industry-specific software
• Currently hold, or be able to obtain with 90 days, a Florida 4-40 license and/or 2-20 license
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail with a degree of cautiousness, as well as a desire to follow procedure.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the discipline to stay on-task.
• Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of Commercial or Personal insurance documents and coverages
