Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) through Customer Service to verify the reported nonconformance and provide input. Works in conjunction with Quality Assurance Manager to reach resolution satisfactory to the customer including researching all possible alternative materials and rework options.
  • Upon notice of an RMA, initiates containment of material including isolating all material to ensure any Work in Progress (WIP) is in conformance or is otherwise managed appropriately which may include immediate quarantine.
  • Is actively involved in the process of identifying, quarantining, and disposition internally-identified nonconforming material (NCMs). Logs entries into a spreadsheet denoting disposition and relays as much to appropriate team members.
  • Composes and disseminates Quality Alerts pertinent to RMAs or NCMs.
  • Understands the Quality Management System (QMS) relating to preventative and corrective actions to continually improve the operations at Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc.
  • Integral problem-solving and corrective action team member.
  • Operates small hand tools including, but not limited to, quality test equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, attribute gauges, etc.) as necessary to monitor internal quality performance and to meet customer-specific requirements.
  • Accurately records quality data on designated reporting sheets and enters the information into necessary computer software, spreadsheets, and databases for purposes of traceability.
  • Can locate, read, comprehend, and execute proper work instructions and other technical documents to ensure the customer or internal specifications are met.
  • Is a resource for others in the Metals group concerning quality and other simple production issues to continually improve processes at Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc.

Working Environment:

  • Works in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required. Post-high school education, including certificates from a technical college or university degrees preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of blueprint reading and measurement necessary.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection standards normally acquired through six (6) months experience in a similar position required.
  • Must have good attention to detail in order to visually identify minute imperfections or defects.
  • Proficiency with computer use, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Must have good data entry skills and accuracy.
  • Previous experience with small hand tools and quality inspection tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently.
