Overview
:
Performs equipment, process, and cleaning validations per FDA requirements under the direction of the Quality Assurance Site Manager. Conducts internal audits according to FDA and Melaleuca requirements under the direction of the QA Manager, Audits. Acts as liaison between Quality Assurance, Packing, Engineering, and Research and Development for the implementation of new processes and measurement of existing processes. Performs other QA regulatory activities as needed.
Responsibilities
:
Essential
- Performs equipment, cleaning, and process validations for all new and existing OTC drug product processes and supporting systems.
- Performs validations in support of FDA guidelines as found in 21 CFR 210,211 and appropriate guidance documents.
- Works with Engineering in the documentation and qualification of the installation of new equipment, especially those related to the manufacture and distribution of OTC drug products.
- Reviews the Engineering Change Request system to determine impact and assure drug product and processes remain in the state of validation within accordance to the applicable regulations.
- Performs Internal Audits of the Knoxville Site. Quality Audit Certification preferred (i.e. ASQ)
- Assists in Customer Complaint handling, trending and investigations, as needed.
- Assists in QA monitoring of pest control..

Qualifications
:
Essential
- Associates degree (or better) in an applied science (Engineering and/or design preferred) or 10 +years industry Quality Assurance experience, preferably in a technical setting.
- A working knowledge of Federal Regulations regarding the manufacturing and distribution of drug products.
- Demonstrated experience in equipment qualification, process validation, and cleaning validation.
- Demonstrated experience authoring validation protocols, standard operating procedures, and technical reports.
- Ability to understand schematics/drawings and basic utility and equipment specifications
- Excellent computer skills with word processing, spreadsheet, and database.
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
- Proficient mathematical and statistical skills especially related to the analysis of process data.
- Ability to organize and coordinate projects and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting with efficiency and accuracy.
- Ability to work and communicate interdepartmentally.
- Self-starter, task oriented.
