SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Communicate Effectively:
- Communicate any out of specification checks or deviations from control limits or specifications to Supervision and Line Operators, and assist them in corrective actions.
- Communicate process information to Supervision and process line Operators
- Notify Supervisor and QA Supervisor, or QA Technical Services Manager of laboratory equipment malfunction or failure.
Complete Paperwork Accurately:
- Pull customer specifications from M3 or TreeNet and reference TreeNet Methods or Intelex controlled procedures
- Record and enter analytical results on the grade records and into the M3 and PC programs
- Check the grade sheet data against customer specifications. Identify out of specification and place on Status 3 hold.
- Complete paperwork according to Tree Top company standards. Record checks at the time of the check.
- Prepare manifest tickets and hold tickets as required.
Maintain Knowledge of Production, Quality, and Food Safety Procedures:
- Demonstrate ability to accurately perform all product testing.
- Relieve and Assist Quality Technician I on assigned process line
- Utilize appropriate procedure(s) per customer specification
- Inspect product and product lines to ensure GMPs/HACCP/PCHF compliance
- Promote Continuous Improvement of the process
- Learn new procedures and job-related information
- Cross-train as assigned to back up Quality Assurance Technician I
- Ensure accuracy of testing by calibration of laboratory equipment, per calibration frequency
Utilize Equipment and Materials:
- Mix chemicals safely
- Operate and calibrate lab equipment
- Prepare needed supplies for daily use
- Maintain a clean work station on scheduled shift and ensure work station is clean prior to subsequent shift.
- Understand all production processes and assist and maximizing quality, efficiencies and meet or exceed customer specifications.
- Measure preservative levels in flumes, in-process and in finished product as assigned
Industrial and Food Safety
- Follow proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures/standards.
- Follow all Haz-Com and Chemical Safety procedures/standards.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practice procedures and standards.
- Follow all Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedure/standards.
- Wear required and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Identify and address all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts - Report to Supervisor on shift
- Follow all other applicable safety rules and regulations.
SKPP
- Must meet specific qualifications detailed in SKPP: Plant Specific, Skill Block, Performance standards and other criteria.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year position-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, and speak and understand in English, in order to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions percentages, area, and averages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, add, subtract, multiply, and divide, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for paperwork, driving and reading specifications, distance vision to drive the forklift, color vision to check product color and identify packaging color differences, peripheral vision for driving the forklift and to watch for pedestrians, depth perception for driving the forklift and stacking pallets, and the ability to adjust focus for driving the forklift and identifying the product
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in proximity to moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- The employee frequently works in high, precarious places
- The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
- The employee occasionally works in outside extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, etc.)
- The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
