For this position, our company does require a 90 day probationary period through a staffing agency before we can offer a permanent full-time position with benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reset set up and operates power presses to automatic feed continuous rolls of material to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw or form.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Assist Senior Setup with all set ups.

· Setup/Reset and operate most primary or secondary operation presses and secondary operation equipment within established cycle times.

· Install and align dies in press according to specifications, using bolts, clamps and wrenches.

· Adjust ram stroke to specified height. Feed material into the die to begin production.

· Startup press and observe operation to detect misalignment or malfunctions.

· Must be able to run multiple presses simultaneously if requested.

· Inspect the quality of the product produced for conformance to specifications per the Production Master Sheet, the In-Process Inspection Sheet, or special instructions.

· Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistical process control charts.

· Use problem solving techniques to identify causes of equipment and/or product quality problems.

· Identify coils of nonconforming material and/or finished products and segregate as necessary.

· Perform and document required preventive maintenance on assigned press.

· Complete required paperwork as instructed by the pressroom supervisor.

· Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.

· Train additional press operators and setup people as required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

At least 3 years of work experience, and a high school diploma with vocational background.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is required to:

*Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.

*Exert up to 20 to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or

*Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

LICENSES REQUIRED: None

VISUAL PERCEPTION

Ability to read machine dials, blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and written documentation and/or instructions.

HEARING ABILITY:

Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify the diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee is subject to:

*High noise levels from operating equipment.

*Physical hazards from loading and unloading equipment.

*Breathing fumes, dust and mist.

*Skin exposure from oils, cutting fluids and cleaning agents.

The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
