The
Department of Public Health is recruiting a
Public
Health Ethics and Compliance Coordinator. This position supervises compliance staff and assists with planning, organizing and implementing policies and procedures that promote the commitment to compliance with federal, state, legal and regulatory issues and matters involving ethical and legal business practices. Additionally, this position will facilitate Compliance/Ethics training, as well as department-wide communication regarding auditing and monitoring practices. This position reports directly to the Compliance and Ethics Program Manager.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Background Investigation: Applicant must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, credit check, and/or medical exam, prior to appointment.
Travel: Travel throughout the State and County may be required. Employees may be required to make provisions for such transportation; mileage reimbursement is available. At the time of hire, a valid California class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.

Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college/university in public or business administration, health care administration, legal studies, political science, health sciences or a closely related field.
-AND-
Experience: Two (2) years of professional-level experience, which includes: analyzing and interpreting government regulations; making written recommendations for the development, implementation, or improvement of programs or operations; creating analytical and professional written reports; conducting compliance/quality management related audits, investigations of complaints reported by staff, customers, or other sources; and/or evaluating/monitoring programs.
-AND-
Experience: Two (2) years of professional-level experience, which includes: analyzing and interpreting government regulations; making written recommendations for the development, implementation, or improvement of programs or operations; creating analytical and professional written reports; conducting compliance/quality management related audits, investigations of complaints reported by staff, customers, or other sources; and/or evaluating/monitoring programs.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in a health ethics/compliance program; performing compliance or chart audit reviews; assistance with or oversight of auditing and/or monitoring practices; and clinical or legal experience is desirable. Lead worker and/or supervisory experience is highly desirable. Experience providing staff development training and ongoing mentorship is also desired. In addition, certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and/or Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) is a plus.
