We are seeking a Public Health Analyst that will provide public health support and assistance in the management and implementation of public health programs for CDC’s Division of Blood Disorders.

General Duties:

· Gather information and relevant documentation for strategic planning and assessment of programmatic, organizational, and staffing functions to maximize public health impact.

· Analyze, develop, and maintain programmatic, administrative, and technical policies and procedures.

· Develop strategies for enhancing collaboration activities among various partners, and programmatic, surveillance, and epidemiologic activities related to people impacted by blood disorders.

· Advise scientific staff on blood disorder program activities, review of fact sheets, and review of draft guidance.

· Analyze policies and procedures to evaluate various Division of Blood Disorders administrative data systems including those used to track contracts, cooperative agreements, travel, and supplies.

· Interpret the results of quantitative and qualitative analysis to improve the effectiveness of the programmatic and administrative operations.

· Prepare reports, presentations, and papers for publication in scientific journals. Develop and distribute documents to carry out the intramural and extramural agendas.

· Collate data to support program requirements; conduct literature reviews and develop summaries; quantitative and qualitative analysis of health data.

· Evaluate the use of existing data systems.

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of public health principles and practices.

· Ability to perform complex analytical studies and interrupt results.

· Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally.

· Ability to work on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.

· Well versed in Microsoft Office products.

· Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques.

· Excellent organization and prioritization skills.

· Background investigation required.

Required Education and Experience:

· Master’s Degree in public health, social science, or health services research.

· Seven (7) years of related experience in the areas of public health promotion and prevention.

· Proficiency with qualitative data analysis and visualization software including NVivo, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Publisher, MS Word, SAS, SUNDANN, Tableau, etc.
