PT A & P Mechanic
The Company
Modern Aviation (the “Company”) launched in 2017 and is focused on the fixed-based operator (“FBO”) sector. The Company has been rapidly growing through the acquisition of FBO locations and has significant additional committed capital from its sponsors to continue to grow the business through future acquisitions. Modern Aviation is looking for a quality Aviation Maintenance Technician (A&P) to join our growing team. We need a technician that can fit in quickly, have a positive attitude, and have General Aviation and Corporate experience.
Primary Purpose of the Position
This position works as a team member performing inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Corporate and General Aviation aircrafts. The successful candidate will possess the appropriate personality to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a constant focus on safety and quality.
Essential Functions:
- Perform efficient troubleshooting, aircraft maintenance, and repair in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer’s instructions, and company policies.
- Ensure consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance records by properly documenting & completing required forms, computer entries, and logbook entries.
- Follow all policies and procedures.
- Keep a clean and orderly work environment.
- Perform job duties in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Airframe and Power plant (A&P) License
- 2 or more years of General Aviation and / or corporate aircraft maintenance experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer manuals
- Jet experience- preferably private jets Challenger and 737NG a plus
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Perform post flight and preflight inspections, and repairs
- Be able to change heavy components- tires and wheels assemblies
- Be able to work in confined spaces
- Be able to work afternoons, nights, and alone
- Knowledge of using Flight Docs a Plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Avionics experience.
Work Hours:
- Aircraft schedule dictates work hours
Reports to: General Manager
Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
FLSA Status: This position is nonexempt.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including extreme heat and cold; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration; chemicals including aviation fuels and oils. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Travel: This position may require some travel for business and school.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform frequent walking, lifting, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping actions. May be required to work nights and weekends. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
