Performs advanced and/or managerial (senior-level) psychological work. Work involves coordinating psychological activities and programs, conducting psychological evaluations, diagnosing and counseling clients, and conducting psychological research. May supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The Psychologist is accountable to the Psychology Manager. Must have a PhD in Psychology. Work involves conducting psychological evaluations, diagnosing and counseling clients, testing, and working with the treatment team. Will provide clinical supervision to the psychology department. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The Psychology Services Manager provides clinical supervisions, consultation, and technical assistance to program staff. The Psychologist provided clinical supervision, consultation, and technical assistance to program staff. Compliance with HHS Immunization Policy required: serologic evidence of immunity to, or documented evidence of vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), Tdap, annual vaccinations against influenza and hepatitis B (if applicable).




Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Develops, coordinates, and evaluates mental health and psychological delivery services, activities, and programs.
Administers and interprets psychological tests and conducts psychological assessments and diagnoses.
Conducts behavior analyses, and designs and monitors behavior modification and skill acquisition plans.
Designs and conducts program evaluation studies Designs and conducts research studies and projects, and disseminates findings.
Develop treatment plans that are designs to target specific behaviors or symptoms.

Provide on going training to clinical staff and paraprofessional staff.
Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings as the representative of psychology services to assists in reviewing comprehensive treatment plans by providing information about
potential psychological factors that could have contributed to the development of an individual's
mental illness, as well as psychological ways in which the illness can be treated or resolved.(10%)
Provide clinical consultation to primary clinician for diagnosis clarification or making treatment
recommendations.
Complies with HRD mandatory training requirements and participates in on-going training offered by
the department of competency, training and development based on facility's deadlines to maintain
and develop skills.
Provides excellent customer service.

Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.



Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of psychology, psychometrics, and physiological principles; of diagnostic criteria; and of psychological evaluation methods. Skill in the use of psychological evaluation and assessment techniques, and in mediation procedures. Ability to provide psychological counseling, to interpret diagnostic evaluations, to analyze behavior, to develop behavior modification and skill acquisition plans, to communicate effectively, and to supervise the work of others.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:
Licensed by the Texas Board of Psychology as a Psychologist

Additional Information:
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aid, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct, and HHS OIG list of Excluded Individuals/Entities.

The salary offered will follow HHS starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the posted minimum of the salary range.

All of these diseases are vaccine preventable. As a result, state hospital policy requires employees be vaccinated according to their level of contact with patients. In the event you choose to not be immunized for the influenza virus, you may be required to wear a mask and take other protective measures.
