The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is growing our psychiatry team! We’re actively looking for psychiatrists who want to make a difference for individuals and families struggling with mental illness. We are hiring for psychiatrists committed to meeting the needs of clients with diverse needs and backgrounds, and providing high quality mental health care in the community. Our ideal candidate has excellent clinical skills alongside a compelling interest in helping underserved individuals with mental health needs get back on their feet—promoting recovery concepts and patient-centeredness in a fast-paced world. We are interested in finding partners who will stretch to do the right thing, and navigate complexity with grace in a public sector setting. Your role will be to perform psychiatric evaluations and to provide interdisciplinary clinical leadership. As an outpatient psychiatrist, you’ll be part of a warm, compassionate, hard-working culture alongside other team members (care coordinators, licensed therapists, practice managers, nurses) all passionate about serving the community. We have hybrid roles and in-person outpatient roles.

Seeking:

  • Adult Outpatient Psychiatrists (MD/DO)
  • Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists (MD/DO)

What you will do:

  • Evaluate individuals and complete all applicable assessments which are required according to State and Program Standards and are deemed appropriate as outlined by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Provide Medication Maintenance to those individuals assigned to the physicians caseload or those deemed necessary to serve during a crisis situation.
  • Provide case consultation and prescribe all rehabilitative therapies associated with persons served.
  • Provide Crisis Resolution Services and make appropriate recommendations for other crisis services as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation necessary to ensure compliance with required Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, THE Harris Center, and organizational standards 100% of the time.
  • Prescriptive Authority and provide Supervision of APRN and PA’s.
  • Complete all required training as outlined by The Harris Center and attend designated meetings.
  • Perform other related job duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not mentioned in the job description.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Licensed to Practice Medicine in the State of Texas (Specialty in Psychiatry).
  • Minimum Requirement: Graduation from as Accredited Medical School and Psychiatric Residency Program. Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas. Special Courses, Certificates, and Licenses: Texas Medical License.
  • Boards Eligible or Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent, and Forensic.
  • Must have and maintain a current controlled Substance Registration certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration .

  • Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) Registered.
