JOB SUMMARY

This requirement is for Protective Security Officer (PSO) services in Greenville, Hernando, Greenwood, Clarksdale, Grenada MS. This job entails related to emergencies and/or disaster-related activities in support of FEMA or Health and Human Services and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Protective Service (FPS). North American Security Inc. is seeking current armed security officers to perform PSO duties in accordance with the Contract.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform a variety of security-related duties, depending on the posts to which they are assigned. Security guards shall answer questions and provide directions to visitors and building tenants. Typical duties include processing visitors by verifying identification, enforce property rules and regulations, contact agency sponsors or escorts, fabricating and issuing visitor passes, entering and maintaining data on visitor logs or automated visitor data base programs, detect and report criminal acts, and ensuring visitors are presented for appropriate personnel and package screening. Additional duties include prevent, discover, delay, and/or detain persons attempting to gain unauthorized access to property and/or personnel at the facility being protected.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• US Citizen
• Have a Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration
• Possess a high school diploma from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent certificate or a college degree.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
• Must be 21 years of age
• Must meet one of the following experience requirements:Two or more years of armed security experience; or

Two or more years of honorable service as a member of any US Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard); orSuccessful completion of a state certified law enforcement education and training or police officers standard training.

• Ability to successfully pass a DHS background and credit investigation.
• Be certified in or able to obtain certification in CPR/FA/AED, as well as Baton/OC certification.
• Applicants must be physically fit with the ability to stand post for up to 12 hours a day.
• Candidates must be qualified for work under Exec Order 14042, Vaccine Mandate for workers on federal contracts.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Guard/clearance card (MS Guard Card).

HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE:
Site locations may vary within the counties identified under the disaster declaration throughout the state of Mississippi. Must be able to work weekends and overtime as required.

Education/Experience

• Must have either a High School dipolma, GED, or College degree.

Background Prerequisites

Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements

Pay: $11.25 - $18.95 per hour
